MindMe exhibition in Nambour


Come along to the opening of MindMe, a group exhibition exploring the value of arts for mental health, Sunday 14 Nov at 2pm. I feel honoured to be exhibiting alongside other accomplished local artists. The exhibition will be on display until 22 January.

I am excited and honoured that my work THIS TOO SHALL PASS has been selected as a finalist in the Contemporary Art Awards 2019.

 

The online exhibition will run from 11 January to 11 June 2019.

Art in the Dark - short art course at USC, starting September 2018

Do you love art but want to experience more than just painting? This 8 week course gives everyone the opportunity to create art, working with a variety of mediums throughout the course. You will be encouraged to focus on using all your senses, not just your vision, and the process rather than the outcome.

 

Art in the Dark is held in a relaxed, immersive and stimulating setting, assisting to make this a unique and rich experience. You will develop the skills to use for introspection, creative inspiration and relaxation, and each piece of work is created without judgement. There is no pressure for a certain outcome, although results might deliver an astonishing amount of visual delight and artful expression!

 

No previous experience is required. All art materials supplied.

 

THIS IS AN 8 WEEK COURSE OCCURRING EVERY WEDNESDAY FROM 6PM-8PM

 

What to bring: Notepad, apron or old clothes, curiosity and willingness to explore intuitive expression. Small fee (approx. $5) for optional clay firing.

BEYOND SIGHT opening night and other impressions


BEYOND SIGHT official opening night Friday 23 March 2018, 6pm

A big thank you again to all who attended the opening night or visited the show while the exhibition was on. Thank you also to all supporters and contributors. I was blown away by the interest and overwhelmingly positive response to this show. I am fortunate to have received a Sunshine Coast Council RADF grant for this project and also very thankful to have had the opportunity to work with some amazing and inspirational people.

I'm excited and very honoured to have been chosen again this year as a finalist in this year's Sunshine Coast - Local Artist, Local Content Art Prize.

 

My mixed media work "Book of Wonder" will be among forty finalist artworks in the finalist exhibition to be held at Caloundra Regional Gallery from 11 October to 5 November 2017.

Flying Arts members exhibition supporting the Queensland Poetry Festival

Katrin Terton, STRANGE CONVERSATIONS, plinth exhibition at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, in support of the Old Poetry Festival 2017

In support of the Queensland Poetry Festival this year, Flying Arts has put together an exhibition of works from four Flying Arts Members. The exhibition will feature video art by Liam Herne, a ‘holographic’ sculptural piece by Alinta Krauth, and  mixed media sculptures by Katrin Terton and Jennifer Long.

 

Works will be on show from 24 August until 24 September at the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Art in Brisbane.

Contemporary Art Awards 2017

I am thrilled and very honoured to have been selected as a finalist in the Contemporary Art Awards 2017. The online exhibition will run from the 10 January 2017 with the winners announced on the 1 February 2017. A list of the finalists will be published on the 23 December 2016 and a printed catalogue will be available at a later date.

Fisher's Ghost Art Award 2016

This piece went off to the Campbelltown Arts Centre in South-West Sydney today. Am excited and honoured to be a finalist in the Fisher's Ghost Art Award 2016. The exhibition will rum from 29 October until 15 December. Opening night is on 4 November from 6pm. Big congratulations to all other finalists!


Sunshine Coast - Local Artist, Local Content Art Prize 2016

I'm extremely excited and honoured to have been chosen as a finalist in this year's Sunshine Coast - Local Artist, Local Content Art Prize. My work will be part of the exhibition at the Caloundra Regional Gallery from 6 - 30 October 2016. Congratulations to the other finalists!
